IMMERSIVE COURSES - A CASE STUDY
THE BRIEF
In the face of a changing marketplace and business landscape, a global organisation needed to boost team adaptability, productivity and cohesion. They needed their teams to be more flexible in their approaches and empowered to be creative and solve the problems facing them and their organisation. The client initially wanted to invest in several small teams across the business who they considered to be most critical to delivering the business strategy. They chose to partner with chronyko to develop innovative and impactful training to deliver against their requirement.
OUR SOLUTION
We worked with our client to create an immersive learning experience where participants became a NASA leadership team in the 1960s at the height of the space race. Their mission was to work together to land a human on the Moon, and return them safely to the Earth. The course focused on teaching the participants the theory behind problem solving, turning this into reproducible approaches which they could then apply to complete their mission.
The course was delivered to each team over the course of a day. Participants were able to assume roles on the team, complete their mission and reflect on their achievements. The day included a variety of fun activities and group challenges that helped embed the learning and allow practical use of the newly learned techniques and skills.
OUTCOMES
The storyline delivered improved engagement with learning and brought the training to life, making problem-solving skills more memorable. Teams learned to collaborate under pressure, communicate effectively, and approach challenges with confidence. Follow up activities and workshops helped embed what was learned into working practices that could be used within the business.
The results were transformative. Employees emerged empowered, agile, and ready to apply solution focused thinking to uncertain situations. The space-themed storyline provided a common language to discuss adaptability and problem solving in the business. As a result leaders saw faster decision-making and a cultural shift towards both empowerment and collaboration.
