“Time was running short. The presentation to the head of Human Resources was in less than a week. The candid feedback about their learning and development programme from the new starters  was still clear in their mind. They knew the benefits that introducing immersive learning to the team would bring, but could they convince the business to invest in this innovative approach to learning and development. They had identified the need and created measures for the expected impact. All that was needed were some credible references ...”

One of the biggest challenges our clients face is building a business case for using immersive learning techniques. As an innovative approach there are always people who have not encountered it before and therefore will naturally challenge whether it delivers the value it promises. This challenge is fair and it is important to be able to back-up both the approach and the activities it involves.

Validation of learning and development approaches can come in different forms. They can be backed by academic research, accredited by learning and development bodies as well as being supported by feedback from real-world implementation. As accreditation of approaches and courses can take time it is important to build a case using previously conducted research into the components that make up immersive learning as well as sharing feedback from successful implementation.

To help the people we work with make the case for immersive learning within their organisations we've built a publication on medium to provide a forum for discussion and sharing of best practice. Its aim is to create a resource for understanding and validation of immersive learning. Please follow the publication and feel free to link to and share the content. We'd also like to welcome new contributors to our publication so if you are interested in submitting a new article please get in touch.
